Last evening, I took my scooter out and went to explore my neighbourhood. The only problem was getting around since Google Maps tends not to read interior locations accurately. After a few wrong turns, I found myself on the right road. I am yet to believe the surreal view at sunset from there.

This is Chapoli Dam in Canacona (pronounced as Kan-Kon) in South Goa. Even though I am doubtful of the bird life around it, the water, the sky and the setting sun worked beautifully for me. Located approximately 5 km away from Old Bus Stand, this dam lies ahead of the Animal Rescue Centre and offers a quiet, uninhibited and picturesque escape. Next time around, I’ll allow my instincts to navigate.
