The colours of Mauritius will stay with me for quite some time. From the morning playful blues to the golden sunsets by the beach, I admire how beautifully the island can change and impress even a mountain girl like me.

In my short stay there, I experienced cloudy, sunny and rainy days. The weather was as erratic and unpredictable as Shillong. And many landscapes also bore a resemblance to the ones back home.

Here are some of my favourite visual memories from the African island.
